John Rutter’s joyful Magnificat will put you in a festive mood for the holiday season! Meant to evoke a Mediterranean celebration, this work has elements of tango, musical theatre, and jazz while celebrating the Latin Magnificat text, the canticle of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Luke I: 46-55). The Chorale will also present Kirke Mechem’s Seven Joys of Christmas, an arrangement of several lesser-known carols from different countries that showcase the many sides of Christmas joy.
